Cefalosporina de primeira geração. Administração oral. Como outras cefalosporinas, o cefadroxilo excreta-se em leite materno em quantidade clinicamente não significativa (Matsuda 1984, Kafetzis 1981, Takase 1979). Embora rara, deve-se ter em conta a possibilidade de gastroenterite transitória devido à alteração da flora intestinal em bebês cujas mães tomam antibióticos (Ito 1993). Autores expertos consideram compatível o uso desta medicação durante a amamentação (Hale, LactMed, Briggs 2015, Bar-Oz 2003, Fulton 1992). Academia Americana de Pediatria: medicação geralmente compatível com a amamentação materna (AAP 2001).
