Comentário
É um inibidor da protease do HIV com atividade antiviral contra o HIV. Utiliza-se no tratamento da infecção pelo HIV e AIDS. Administração junto a outros antirretrovirais por via oral em três doses diárias. É excretado no leite materno em concentração não conhecida, mas entre uma e cinco vezes maior que a plasmática. (Colebunders 2005) Os efeitos secundários mais frequentes são transtornos gastrointestinais (dor abdominal, diarreia, náuseas e vômitos), cefaleia, tonturas, nefrolitíase e insuficiência renal.
